Android 2.2 für Nexus One offiziell verfügbar

Lange Zeit mussten die Besitzer eines Google Nexus One darauf warten, dass ein Update des Android OS von Version 2.1 auf 2.2 zur Verfügung gestellt wurde. Zwar gab es vor einigen Tagen schon eine Meldung über einen Release des neuen OS, allerdings hat Google erst jetzt offiziell Vollzug gemeldet.

Nexus One bekommt Android 2.2 Froyo

Im Blog von Google zum Thema Nexus One wurde heute offiziell bestätigt, dass man sich das Android OS 2.2 für das Google Nexus One herunterladen kann. Die Mitteilung von Google lautet wie folgt:

“Starting today, Nexus One users will begin to receive the Android 2.2 (codenamed Froyo) over-the-air software update on their phones. This update provides some great new features including support for making your handset a portable hotspot and support for Adobe Flash within the browser. For a complete list of everything we’ve included in Android 2.2, please see the Android 2.2 Platform Highlights.

In order to access the update, you will receive a message on your phone’s notification bar. Just download the update, wait for it to install, and you should be all set. This update will be rolled out gradually to phones – and most users will receive the notification by the end of the week.”

Wer also ein Google Nexus One besitzt, der kann sich jetzt das verbesserte Android OS in Version 2.2 sichern, das mit Sicherheit von vielen Besitzern des Nexus One installiert werden wird.

Wann folgen die nächsten Geräte?

Nachdem das Nexus One als erstes Android-Smartphone auf dem Markt mit Android 2.2 Froyo ausgestattet worden ist, tritt natürlich die Frage in den Vordergrund, wann die nächsten Android-Geräte mit einem Update versehen werden können.

Prinzipiell darf man davon ausgehen, dass das Update auf Android 2.2 am Schnellsten von HTC durchgeführt werden wird, da es bei den anderen Herstellern erwartungsgemäß ein wenig länger dauert bis die Änderungen mit den eigenen Benutzeroberflächen kompatibel gemacht worden sind.
